W.W.D.W.B.W. – a new abbreviation I just learned. I had not heard of it before, but it covers exactly what we have been propagating for years.

Recently there was a great article in the New York Times on how to run an effective meeting. https://www.nytimes.com/guides/business/how-to-run-an-effective-meeting. It is a brief article based on extensive research, I suggest you read it. Here are the main conclusions from the article with some key quotes:

Set the agenda.

“Give me an agenda or else I’m not going to sit there, because if I don’t know why we’re in the meeting, then there’s no reason for a meeting.”

Start on time. End on time.

“If the meeting is at 8, you’re not here at 8:01, you’re here at 8, because the meeting’s going to start at 8,”

End with an action plan.

W.W.D.W.B.W., which stands for Who Will Do What By When?”
MeetingKing makes it easy.

MeetingKing will help you with every step. It helps you to 1. prepare the agenda, 2. write the minutes, 3. assign tasks and 4. make sure tasks get completed.

So now you know how to run an effective meeting. And yes, I like that W.W.D.W.B.W.!

now.
